Reading Circle

Youth Literature

Ideal for younger readers building a sophisticated, native-level foundation.

Sundays · 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM GMT

📅 We hope to begin our first circles in September 2026, in line with the academic year.

An open storybook glowing softly by a window at dusk

Designed specifically for advanced teenage learners, this circle uses the phenomenal world of Harry Potter to bridge the gap between high-level textbook English and authentic, native-level reading. We move past the surface plot to look at the machinery of storytelling and the particular flavour of British idiomatic English — following the series as it grows from whimsical discovery into complex, global themes. It's the perfect place for younger students to build a sophisticated, analytical foundation.

Reading: Harry Potter (Books 1–4)

Language & Fluency Focus

What you'll actually build

British idiomatic English

Students master the authentic, colloquial British dialogue, slang and phrasing that standard school curriculums simply don't teach.

Analytical thinking

We go beyond plot summaries: students learn to deconstruct a story, weigh an author's intent, and think critically about the media they consume.

Sophisticated vocabulary

Immersed in Rowling's descriptive prose, students lift their vocabulary from standard Eiken and school levels to rich, expressive, native-level word choices.

High-level articulation

Our intimate circles give teens a focused space to practise forming complex ideas, debating characters' motives and speaking with genuine academic confidence.
